Optimism granted 2 million OP tokens to Mode DeFi layer 2. Mode will launch first airdrop this April

Mode is a modular DeFi layer 2 that offers 10x lower fees than Ethereum. Mode built using OP Stack and it partners with Optimism Foundation.

 

Mode rewards developers from sequence of fee sharing.  Developers earn a percentage of transaction fees from their users.

 

Under partnership between Mode and Optimism Foundation, Mode pays a portion of its sequencer revenue to Optimism Collective. A resquencer is responsibile for order transactions before those transactions being sent to the main chain.

 

On Jan 23, 2024, Optimism Foundation granted Mode 2 million OP tokens in return to support user growth incentives.  2 million OP tokens worth $7,680,000.

 

OP token is a governance token of Optimism Superchain (Optimism mainnet).

 

Mode’s total value locked has been growing. Now it has $85 million TVL. Most of Mode’s TVL comes from a lending platform Ionic Protocol, it has $55 million TVL.  LayerBank lending platform also supports Mode.
