Starbucks is aggressively expanding its coffee empire to the web3 and NFT marketplaces, launching a loyalty program called Starbucks Odyssey in the U.S. to testers during beta.

The Starbucks Rewards loyalty program, which runs on Polygon, will help members and employees of coffee couriers can be obtained and purchased digital collectibles in the form of NFTs, as announced in September.

Moreover, at the time, the company said, members, would be able to unlock access to "more immersive coffee experiences: from unique merchandise and artist collaborations to invitations to special events."

The interactive event, called "Journeys," will involve gameplay designed to give customers more in-depth knowledge of Starbucks' brand and coffee, which, once played, will receive NFTs that the company dubbed "journey stamps."

According to a TechCrunch report, the first stamps will be referred to Starbucks’s history, with NFTs inspired by their first location in Seattle's Pike Place market. It states that each NFT will have a rarity-based score value and will be able to be put up for auction on the NFT marketplace powered by Starbucks Nifty Gateway, which will launch next year.
