On June 8, 2024, Orbit Chain hacker that stole $100 million in ETH and DAI from Orbit Chain's cross chain-bridge, responsible for the exploit over New Year’s Eve 5 months ago, began to move a significant amount of the stolen funds to Tornado Cash.

$47.7 million in Ether (ETH) was transferred to Tornado Cash, a cryptocurrency privacy mixer.

The use of services like Tornado Cash by hackers is a concern because it can make tracking and recovering stolen funds become harder.

The funds were moved across seven transactions on June 8, 2024.

This movement comes after a period of five months of inactivity since the hack happened.

The total loss from the exploit was initially reported as $82 million, but recent updates suggest it might be closer to $100 million.

The exploiter’s balance now stands at $71.2 million, including $51.1 million in Ether and smaller amounts in other cryptocurrencies.

Orbit Chain had confirmed the exploit and has been working with international law enforcement agencies.
