Scaramucci says the Trump family’s involvement in cryptocurrency could
open the door to corruption and distract Congress from making clear decisions
about crypto regulation.

Trump’s meme coin on Solana, his firm World Liberty Financial, and a deal with
Crypto.com as examples of this distraction.
While he said the Trump
administration’s crypto work was decent—giving it a B+ or A-. He warned that
the way Trump is handling crypto now could lead to bribery or misuse of power.
He explained that these “distractions”
make it harder for older lawmakers, especially those already unsure about
crypto, to focus on serious regulation.
Scaramucci also said that instead of
using executive orders, the U.S. needs a bipartisan agreement on things like
the strategic Bitcoin reserve.
Otherwise, future presidents could
simply undo those policies, leaving the country with inconsistent crypto rules.
