Sui Mainnet Will Launch In Q2 Of This Year. No Plan For An Airdrop

Sui mainnet will be launching in the second quarter of this year. Sui says there is no plan for an airdrop yet. Sui is a layer 1 blockchain, it is a competitor of Aptos in which currently Aptos is the 30th largest crypto by market cap with valuation of $2.1 billion. On the other hand, Sui does not rank one of the top 100 most valuable cryptocurrencies, unlike Aptos. Aptos and Sui want to be a Solana killer. Both Aptos and Sui blockchains have been developed from Diem’s open-source software. Diem used to be a cryptocurrency developed by Facebook. Facebook shutdown Diem project and sold off Diem's remaining assets.

Later, the underlying technology of Diem has been developed into Aptos and Sui. Move is a programming language Sui uses to build smart contracts. Move is an open-source language for writing smart contracts originally developed by Diem. 

Ethereum based blockchain can process 20 transactions per second. Visa can process 24,000 transactions per second. Sui claims its blockchain can process 120,000 transactions per second. Sui founded by former executives at Meta, Adeniyi Abiodun and Evan Chang are Sui co-founders. The total supply of SUI is capped at 10 billion tokens (10,000,000,000 tokens)
