On June 18, 2024, Ronin has launched its zkEVM, a zero-knowledge layer-2 chain, to enhance blockchain gaming.

This new development is built with the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) and aims to support more users and game studios.

This strategic move will enable Ronin to introduce its own zkEVM Layer 2 chains. Ronin is exploring Agglayer to turn itself into an L2, leading to Ethereum alignment.

The integration with Polygon’s CDK is tipped to help Ronin handle up to 4 billion daily transactions, a substantial increase from its current capacity of about 40 million transactions per day.

Ronin zkEVM allows projects building on Ronin to launch their own layer-2 chains on top of the Ronin mainnet.

zkEVM enables infinite blockspace by enabling economically aligned layer 2 chains to be deployed on top of Ronin

Sky Mavis, the company behind the popular blockchain game Axie Infinity, it is the developer of the Ronin blockchain that focuses on supporting blockchain games. Jeff Zirlin is the co-founder of Sky Marvis.

The launch of Ronin zkEVM will increase Web3 gaming capabilities by helping scale the number of transactions and it  is expected to accommodate more users and help game studio partners grow.
