On October 15, 2024, PancakeSwap, a leading decentralized exchange (DEX), has introduced PancakeSwapX, a new platform offering zero-fee and gasless swaps on the Ethereum and Arbitrum networks. This move aims to simplify the DeFi experience and attract more mainstream users by eliminating the need for native gas tokens like Ether.

PancakeSwapX seeks to address one of DeFi’s biggest hurdles: high transaction fees and complex onboarding. With its gasless swap feature, users can trade without holding gas tokens, a model similar to centralized exchanges (CEXs) where fees are managed off-chain. The platform aggregates liquidity from multiple sources, providing users with better execution prices, and supports over 150 tokens  (including WETH, WBTC, USDT, USDC etc) on Ethereum and Arbitrum.

During its initial launch, PancakeSwapX will offer zero-fee trading for select tokens, with plans to expand its gasless swap functionality to more networks in the future.

In conclusion, PancakeSwapX aims to make crypto trading more accessible by introducing zero-fee, gasless swaps on Ethereum and Arbitrum. This new product simplifies the DeFi onboarding process, eliminating the need for users to buy Ether for transaction fees.

Key features include integration with PancakeSwap UI, zero fees at launch for 150 tokens, better execution prices through liquidity aggregation, and MEV protection. The goal is to enhance user experience, attract mainstream adoption, and it aims to expand to more chains in the future.
