The Open Network (Toncoin) formerly known as GRAM. The Open Network is a layer 1 blockchain
designed by Telegram. It was founded by the Durov brothers founders of Telegram
in 2018. TON’s mainnet fully lives on 2022.
It has block time of 5 seconds compare to Ethereum 2.0 that has 12
seconds and Solana 1 second.
TON’s time to finality is 6 seconds. Ethereum 2.0 is 10
minutes and Solana is 6 seconds.
Pavel Durov, TON’s founder said he is building a DeFi platform and a non-custodial wallet on TON network. Recently, TON network announced $126 rescue
fund to support crypto projects and developers that have been affected from FTX’s
bankruptcy.
Currently, Toncoin is 26th largest cryptocurrency
by market capitalization.
