Staked ETH hits all-time high of 28%

The percentage of ether (ETH) being staked reached a new high of 28.04% on August 5, 2024.

This growth is largely driven by the popularity of liquid restaking protocols such as EigenLayer, EtherFi, and Renzo have seen an exponential increase in total value locked (TVL).

Since the introduction of spot Ethereum ETFs, there has been a 1.9% increase in the amount of ETH staked.

The rise in liquid restaking is significant, with the TVL in these protocols jumping from $1.34 billion to $18.65 billion this year, marking an increase of over 1,200%.

Eigenlayer is the largest restaking platform. It has $12.188 billion TVL as of August 7, 2024.
