MetaMask co-founder and CEO Dan Finlay has confirmed that MetaMask will be launching native support for Solana (SOL) in May 2025.

This significant development marks MetaMask's first expansion beyond Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains, enabling users to store SOL tokens and interact directly with Solana decentralized applications (dApps) through the MetaMask wallet.

Users will be able to create or import Solana accounts within MetaMask using their existing Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP). This integration allows for seamless management of SOL and SPL tokens alongside Ethereum-based assets.

The update facilitates direct interaction with Solana dApps, expanding MetaMask's utility beyond EVM-compatible platforms.

MetaMask's redesigned interface supports multiple networks, simplifying navigation and asset management across different blockchains.

This development is part of MetaMask's strategy to enhance multi-chain interoperability and provide users with a more comprehensive crypto wallet experience.
