On June 15, 2023, Blackrock filed for Bitcoin ETF application. One month later, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) has added Blockrock’s Bitcoin ETF application on Nasdaq File Number List
for 2023. (The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC (NASDAQ) Rulemaking /sec.gov).
This means that SEC has begun the first process to review BlackRock’s ETF proposal. It will also review other Bitcoin ETF applications including Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust, WisdomTree, VanEck and Invesco Galaxy.
If SEC approves Bitcoin ETFs, they will be
trading on stock exchanges like Nasdaq. Bitcoin ETF enables institutional investors and individual
stock investors to have an exposure in bitcoins.
