Feb 13, 2024 - Doodles, a popular NFT brand, has announced the launch of its official token, $DOOD, on the Solana blockchain. The company also has plans to bridge the token to Base, the Layer 2 network incubated by Coinbase.

The maximum supply of $DOOD will be 10 billion tokens, with a significant portion allocated to the Doodles community and an ecosystem fund. The distribution of the tokens is as follows:

  • 30% to the Doodles community
  • 25% to the ecosystem fund
  • 17% to the Doodles team
  • 13% to attract "new blood" to the ecosystem
  • 10% for liquidity
  • 5% to the company

Doodles' move follows in the footsteps of Pudgy Penguins, another NFT brand that launched its token, PENGU, in December 2024 on the Solana network, with a total supply of 88.89 billion tokens.

Originally launched as a 10,000-piece NFT collection, Doodles has since expanded its brand into various industries, including animation, music, and a partnership with McDonald’s.

The project remains a major player in the NFT space, with $2.46 million in trading volume recorded between February 2 and February 9.

With the introduction of $DOOD, Doodles aims to further develop its ecosystem, rewarding its community and fostering new growth within the NFT space.
