Ryan Salame is a former executive at the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. He was the co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets

Salame gained attention due to his involvement in FTX's controversial practices, which included the misuse of customer funds, leading to significant legal and financial repercussions for the company and its executives.

Ryan Salame, the former co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, has been granted a postponement for reporting to prison until October 13, 2024.

This decision was made by Judge Lewis Kaplan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The delay was approved on July 26 due to medical complications that arose from a dog bite Salame suffered on June 29, which requires treatment and surgery before he can serve his sentence.

Salame was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business and engaging in campaign finance fraud.

His initial report date was set for August 29, but now he will have an additional 45 days of freedom.

This case is part of the larger legal proceedings involving the misuse of customer funds at FTX and Alameda Research. Other associates of FTX, including Nishad Singh, Gary Wang, and Caroline Ellison, have also pleaded guilty and are cooperating with prosecutors, with their sentencing scheduled for later this year.
