Alibaba has announced a new senior
leadership role, Wu Zeming is taking over as Chief Technology Officer (CTO),
succeeding Li Cheng who took up CTO position in 2019.
Jeff Zhang moved from head of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence to head of
the Alibaba DAMO Academy. It an in-house technology research department,
developing cutting edge advance technology including units; IoT initiatives and Alibaba’s
proprietary chip development team T-Head
Alibaba is the third largest cloud provider. With the first is AWS
and the second is Microsoft Azure. Daniel Zhang CEO of Alibaba is focusing on
Alibaba Cloud. Although Alibaba Cloud is the leader in China’s market. But it
does not perform as well as AWS in oversea market.
