Polygon co-founder and Polygon’s zkEVM developer Jordi Baylina gave an interview with Cointelegraph. He said that Polygon will start testing Polygon 2.0’s ecosystem and network in 2024.

Polygon is the pioneer of ZK-rollup layer 2 scaling solution. Polygon 2.0 will migrate from MATIC to POL.

POL is a hyper-productive token. POL will be used for staking, paying transaction fees, and governance on Polygon’s chains and Polygon’s ecosystem such as Polygon PoS and Polygon zkEVM. POL can interact with all Polygon’s chains seamlessly.

When launch POL will have starting supply of 10 billion tokens. Users can swap MATIC to POL.

POL will have an inflation rate of 2%. 1% inflation will go to validator rewards for the first 10 years and after that the community can decide inflation rate through governance but inflation rate will never increase beyond 1%.

Another 1% inflation will go to ecosystem support through the Community Treasury to fund growth and development of Polygon’s ecosystem. 1% inflation will go to the Community Treasury for the first 10 years and after that the community can decide inflation rate through governance but inflation rate will never increase beyond 1%.
