Coinbase's Layer-2 blockchain, Base, is making significant strides. Base has recently surpassed Arbitrum in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL) and active addresses, making it the most used Ethereum Layer-2 network.

 

On October 13, 2024, Base’s TVL hit new high of $2.378 billion. While, Arbitrum has $2.345 billion in TVL. Base has surpassed Arbitrum as the largest Ethereum Layer 2 by total value locked (TVL).

 

Most of the growth on Base comes from Aerodome. It is Base’s AMM decentralized exchange. Aerodome currently has $1.273 billion in TVL.

 

Base developed by America’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and the world 3rd largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Coinbase. It built on Optimism’s OP Stack. Coinbase is a publicly traded company, it currently has a market cap of $43.83 billion.
