In response, Nailwal stated, "I think gaming is the largest-scale opportunity for crypto." He further added, "There are some top games set to launch in the Web3 space within the next 6-18 months, and it will be very interesting to see if any of them can successfully integrate cryptocurrencies.
Last year
alone, Web3 games received over $2 billion in funding. Polygon, along with its
ecosystem players like IMX [Immutable X], secured the majority of that funding.
We have high hopes for their success!"
In March,
Polygon partnered with Immutable X to develop a scalable gaming blockchain
using Polygon's EVM-compatible zk-rollup technology. The network is scheduled
to launch in the upcoming months and is expected to enhance blockchain gaming
speed and provide other benefits.
When asked about decentralization, Nailwal expressed his opinion that cryptocurrency is still in its early stages. He stated, "I don't believe any blockchain ecosystem, except Bitcoin and Ethereum, is fully decentralized yet." He emphasized that immediate full decentralization is not essential, but rather progressive decentralization of protocols and applications as they gain greater significance.
