As of April 18, 2023, the number of wallet addresses on the Arbitrum Layer 2 Ethereum network has exceeded 5 million since the beginning of its airdrop campaign. According to statistics compiled by user @Henrystats on Dune Analytics, aside from personal wallet addresses, there are now over 4 million active accounts on the ARB ecosystem, with almost 200 million transactions completed since its inception.

This growth occurred during a tumultuous period for Arbitrum and the airdrop frenzy on March 23, where 1.275 trillion ARB tokens were distributed to all 625,143 eligible wallet addresses.

On April 15, the proposal by the Arbitrum DAO to reclaim 700 million ARB tokens to their treasury was rejected with a vote of 118 million against, representing 84% of the total votes. The ARB tokens in favor of the proposal amounted to 21 million, which accounted for almost 14.5% of the total votes, with around 2 million ARB tokens abstaining from voting.

Although the explosive growth has led to over 5 million active wallet addresses on Arbitrum, weekly user activity appears to have significantly decreased since March 20, with the highest number of users reaching 1.38 million and now reduced to approximately 333,000.
