Vitalik Buterin supports the deployment of zk-EVM on Ethereum’s main blockchain

Vitalik Buterin encouraged to use of Zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machines (zk-EVMs) on the Ethereum mainnet.

According to the blog post, Buterin stated that zk-EVM will accelerate Ethereum's review process without compromising network decentralization and security. 

Buterin believes that the entire authentication process can be solved using zk-EVM, which improves network scalability, where zk-EVM improves Ethereum's scalability by creating zero-knowledge proofs while supporting smart contracts and application compatibility.

Polygon, Ethereum's Layer 2 solution, has now deployed zk-EVM to improve transaction speed.  Polygon's zk-EVM combines multiple transactions into a single proof, allowing the network to run smoothly.

Buterin believes that zk-EVM should not be used solely for layer 2 protocols, as deployment on Ethereum's core layer (L1) is possible.
