Police Arrested Do Kwon At Podgorica Airport In Montenegro

Do Kwon was reportedly arrested in Montenegro after many months of hiding in Serbia and Montenegro, the two countries are neighboring countries. Montenegro’s Interior Minister Filip Adzic’s said in his Twitter account that the police has detained a man suspected of being Do Kwon, who was classified as one of the most wanted fugitives.

 

Montenegro’s Interior Minister statement on Twitter said

“Crnogrska policija lišila je slobode lice za koje se sumnja da je jedan od najtraženijih bjegunaca, južnokorejski državljanin Do Kwon, suosnivač i izvršni direktor Terraform Labs sa sjedištem u Singapuru.

“Montenegrin police have detained a person suspected of being one of the most wanted fugitives, South Koean citizen Do Kwon, co-founder and CEO of Singapore-based Terraform Lab,”



Nekadašnji “kralj kriptovaluta”, koji stoji iza gubitaka većih od 40 milijardi dolara, lišen je slobode na podgoričkom aerodromu sa falsifikovanim dokumentima, a istog potražuju Južna Koreja, SAD i Singapur. Čekamo zvaničnu potvrdu identiteta.

“The former cryptocurrency king, who is behind the losses of more than 40 billion dollars was detained at Podgorica airport with falsified documents, and he has been wanted by South Korea, the USA, and Singapore. We are waiting for confirmation of identity.”

The statement added that Do Kwon was arrested at the local airport in which he disguised himself to be another person. However, Montenegro government does not officially confirm his identity yet. Currently, Do Kwon is facing investigations by US government and South Korean government. After the collapse of Luna and UST last May which caused tens of billions of dollars damage to the crypto market.

Previously, the South Korean police agency has coordinated on issuing arrest warrant with the Interpol. Do Kwon had been escaped in many countries. He had been covered up his travel traces. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a red notice to announce the arrest of Do Kwon by coordinating with Interpol in every country.
