Optimism network conducted number 2 airdrop activity by sending 11.7
million OP tokens to more than 300,000 wallets. Optimism is one of the most
active smart contract platforms. According to defillama Optimism has $776
million TVL across 102 dApps. It is an EVM compatible blockchain that allows
developers to transfer smart contracts developed for Ethereum to Optimism. Optimism
is famous for layer-2 rollups, making transaction on Ethereum cheaper and
faster.
In May 2022, Optimism conducted airdrop number 1. Sending 200 milion
OP tokens to 250,000 early adopters and engaged users. Optimism’s Airdrop number 2
distributed 11,742,277.10 OP tokens to 307,965 addresses to reward positive-sum
governance participation and power users of
Optimism Mainnet. Addresses that have delegated the
voting power of their OP tokens and addresses that spent more than $6.1 on L2
gas since March 25,2022 are eligible for Airdrop number 2.
Optimism’s policy is to distribute 19% of total initial supply to
the community through airdrop. It wants to increase competitiveness over
Arbitrum and expand adoption.
