The Shanghai hard fork on Ethereum has
been set by Ethereum developers on April 12. The Shanghai mainnet upgrade will
include five improvements, including EIP-4985 which will allow Ethers (ETH)
that have been staked on the Beacon Chain to be withdrawn and complete the
transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake.
According
to Etherscan, more than 17.69 million ETH have been staked on the Ethereum PoS
smart contract. The Shanghai Upgrade can cause short-term selling pressure.
