Montenegro’s authorities are conducting
judicial proceedings against Do Kwon and Han Chang-joon. Do Kwon’s
lawyers are requesting $436,000 bail for each Do Kwon and Han Chang-joon. If
bail success, both of them will be put under home confinement in Montenegro. Do
Kwon and Han Chang-joon are schedule to go to court on June 16.
Montenegro’s court stated that
“In the
Basic Court in Podgorica, a hearing was held in the case against Korean
citizens C.J.H. and K.D.H. who are accused of having committed the criminal
offense of document forgery. The defendants denied the commission of the crime
and provided a defense. Instead of detention, the defendant's lawyer suggested
that bail and supervision measures be imposed, prohibiting them from leaving
the apartment and periodically reporting to a certain state authority.
A trial was
held before the Basic Court in Podgorica in the case against the defendants
C.J.H. and K.D.H. who are accused of having committed the criminal offense of
document forgery. At the main hearing, the defendants denied the commission of
the criminal offense they were charged with and presented their defense.
The defense
counsel for the defendants proposed to the court to abolish custody and, as a
measure to ensure the presence of the defendants and for the smooth conduct of
the criminal proceedings, to set bail in the amount of EUR 400,000.00 each, as
well as measures of supervision of the prohibition to leave the apartment and
the obligation to periodically report to the state authority, while the competent
state prosecutor opposed the same. The court will decide on the said proposal
within the legal term.
The next main trial is set for June 16, 2023. at 12:00 p.m.”
