issued an apology for its coverage of Pepe Coin, a meme cryptocurrency, after
referring to the original meme as a "hate symbol" in a newsletter.
The exchange's chief legal officer, Paul Grewal, admitted that the information
provided "did not provide the whole picture" of the meme's history.

The apology came after the #deletecoinbase hashtag trended on Twitter. Pepe Coin has seen a cooling down over the past few days, with a 15% drop in the last 24 hours, and is currently trading at $0.00000158, according to CoinMarketCap.
