Bitcoin dominance is a metric that measures the market share of Bitcoin relative to the total cryptocurrency market capitalization. Today Bitcoin Dominance indicator shows that, at the moment Bitcoin's market capitalization occupies a percentage of the total crypto market capitalization, reaching 48.76% for the first time in nearly two years.

Since 2022 Bitcoin had never taken up half of the crypto market value. But in April 2024 Bitcoin has finally regained almost 50% of the majority market share.

Bitcoin price went from $16,611 per BTC on November 24, 2022 to $30,153 on April 12, 2023. Bitcoin made 81% gain in the period of 5 months. At the time of the report, Bitcoin's market capitalization was $582 billion. It accounts for 48.76% of the total crypto market cap of $1.2 trillion.
