According to research conducted by CoinGecko in 2023, Americans have emerged as the leaders in the "meme coin" craze. The study found that residents of the United States are most interested in coins such as Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Floki Inu (FLOKI), and Pepe Coin (PEPE), with India and the United Kingdom following in second and third place, respectively.

CoinGecko estimated that over 23% of global interest in meme coins comes from the United States, with Shiba Inu being the most popular token at 60.7%, followed by Pepe Coin, Bonk, and Volt Inu.

Meanwhile, residents of India account for 20.3% of global interest, with Shiba Inu being the most popular token once again and Baby Doge Coin coming in second place.

Representing the only European entry in the top 10, the UK comes in at third place with approximately 16% of global interest, although CoinGecko did not specify which assets are most in demand among British investors.

In Canada, PEPE Coin received the most local interest, accounting for nearly 27% of total attention, while Dogecoin received 61.1% in Morocco.
