$35 Million Have Been Hacked From Atomic Wallets

Atomic wallet is a decentralized cryptocurrency wallet similar to Trust Wallet. Atomic wallet is available on both mobile and desktop versions. It supports Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, and Linux.

 
ZachXBT on Twitter: "Update: A new largest victim was found on Tron with 7.95M USDT stolen, The five biggest losses account for $17M.

My graph has now surpassed $35M in total stolen. 


According to on-chain detective ZachXBT, the hacker stole $35 million from many Atomic Wallet users. The $35 million loss including $7.95 million in USDT. The five largest losses value $17 million. The single largest loss is $2.8 million.

 

ZachXBT on Twitter: "Some things to note about this hack. Largest single victim I have observed is for 2.8M USDT. 

The assets that have been stolen do not come from the private keys that users keep but come from Atomic Wallet itself. The problem come from Atomic Wallet insufficiently secure in protecting the security of the wallets.

 

Latest report from Atomic Wallet announced that less than 1% of monthly active users have been affected.
