Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has made his first public appearance since being released from prison. CZ, who served a four-month sentence for violating U.S. financial laws, spoke at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai that took place between October 30-31, 2024. He emphasized that he is now a passive investor in Binance and is exploring new ventures in artificial intelligence and biotech.

Changpeng Zhao, commonly known as CZ, the founder of Binance, recently made his first public appearance since completing a four-month prison sentence for violating U.S. anti-money laundering laws. At the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, he was warmly received by attendees, with some referring to him as a "martyr" and declaring, "The king is back."

In an interview following the event, CZ expressed no desire to return as CEO of Binance, stating, "I don't think I want to go back" to leading the company. He mentioned that while he remains the largest shareholder of Binance, he has received offers to sell his stake but has not made any decisions yet.

Looking ahead, CZ plans to focus on new ventures, including launching an educational platform named Giggle Academy, aiming to reach over a billion users. He also intends to invest in sectors like blockchain, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

Despite his departure from Binance's leadership, CZ's influence in the cryptocurrency industry remains important, and his future endeavors are anticipated to have a notable impact on the sector.
